Aulds Bakeries and Aulds Delicious Desserts are long-standing, family-run businesses producing high-quality bakery and dessert products from our Greenock and Inchinnan sites.
We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team and support the continued reliability, efficiency and improvement of our production operations.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will play a key part in maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of equipment and systems that keep our sites running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing:
✅ Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding quickly to machinery breakdowns.
✅ Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults across production equipment.
✅ Supporting site uptime by developing and following effective maintenance schedules.
✅ Maintaining and improving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems.
✅ Supporting the installation, commissioning and testing of new equipment.
✅ Working with the wider engineering and production teams to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
✅ Coordinating with external contractors where required for repairs, servicing and project work.
✅ Maintaining accurate engineering records, service documentation and maintenance logs.
✅ Ensuring all engineering activity is carried out safely and in line with health, safety, food safety and hygiene standards.
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Degree, diploma, 18th edition or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
✔️ Strong hands-on experience in electrical fault finding, repair, and maintenance.
✔️ Confident working with PLC systems, control panels, motors, and automation equipment.
✔️ Able to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
✔️ Background in food production, manufacturing, or another fast-paced environment.
✔️ Familiar with hydraulic, pneumatic, and compressed air systems.
✔️ Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
✔️ A can-do attitude with a hands-on, team-focused approach.
