1. Information we collect

We may collect personal information when you use our website, submit a contact form, submit a job application form, contact us directly, provide feedback or make a complaint, place an order directly with one of our shops or team members, or interact with our website through cookies or similar technologies.

The personal information we collect may include:

  • name and contact details, including email address, phone number and postal address where relevant;
  • details of your enquiry, feedback or complaint;
  • order details where relevant;
  • job application information, including CVs, employment history, references, right-to-work information and other information provided as part of recruitment;
  • technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information and website usage data;
  • any other information you choose to provide to us.

Please do not provide sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your enquiry or application.

2. Website forms and retention

At launch, the website uses a contact form and a job application form. These forms are provided through Gravity Forms Pro, a WordPress plugin.

Form submissions are sent to Aulds by email and a copy is temporarily retained on the website server. Website/server copies of form entries are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. Emails received by Aulds may be retained separately where needed for business, legal, recruitment or complaint handling purposes.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, deal with customer service issues and complaints, provide product information, manage direct shop orders where applicable, process job applications, operate and secure our website, comply with legal obligations, and protect our business, staff and customers.

We may send marketing communications in future where we have permission or another lawful basis to do so. We do not currently connect the website to an email marketing platform at launch.

4. Lawful bases for using your information

We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis to do so. Depending on the circumstances, this may include contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests, consent, and recruitment-related processing.

Legitimate interests may include running and improving our business, responding to enquiries, managing complaints, preventing spam and protecting our website, provided your rights do not override those interests.

Consent may be used for non-essential cookies or certain marketing communications.

5. Job applications

If you apply for a job with Aulds The Bakers, we will use the information you provide to assess your application, contact you about the role, arrange interviews and manage the recruitment process.

Website/server copies of job application form entries are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. If your application is unsuccessful, recruitment information received by email may normally be retained by Aulds for up to 6 months after the recruitment process ends, unless we agree with you that we may keep it for longer. If your application is successful, relevant information will become part of your employment record.

6. Sharing your information

We may share personal information where necessary with companies within the Aulds group, website developers, hosting providers, IT support providers, website form, security, spam protection, analytics and email delivery providers, professional advisers, regulators, public authorities or law enforcement where required.

At launch, relevant website services may include UK-based shared server hosting, Gravity Forms Pro for forms, Wordfence for security, Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection, Postmark for transactional website emails, Complianz for cookie consent, and Google Analytics if enabled through the cookie consent setup.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to make the website work, improve performance, understand how visitors use the site and support security. Non-essential cookies and analytics should only be used where the required consent has been obtained. Please see our Cookies Policy or cookie preference tool for more information.

8. International transfers

Some service providers may process personal information outside the UK. Where this happens, we will take appropriate steps to protect personal information in line with UK data protection law.

9. Your rights

You have rights under data protection law, including the right to access your personal information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it in certain circumstances, restrict or object to certain uses, withdraw consent where we rely on consent, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

To exercise your rights, contact us at enquiries@aulds.co.uk.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on our website.
